PURPOSE: To improve the productivity of a plate-like casting product and the durability of a mold by providing the water-cooling type mold arranging a cooling water passage at lower face of a casting face, horizontally shifting the casting face in the mold during supplying molten metal or a molten metal tapping hole in a melting furnace and changing molten metal supplying position on the casting face with time.

CONSTITUTION: The mold 1 is rotated at low velocity by driving a motor 11, and by tilting the melting furnace 30, the molten metal is poured on the casting face 8 from the molten metal tapping hole 33. The poured molten metal is thickly spread all over the casting face 8 by rotating the mold 1. This casting face is held to low temp. with a cooling water passage formed in the mold 1 to cool and solidify the molten metal in a short time. By setting a weir 7 to circumference of the casting face 8, the disk-like casting product having the prescribed thickness can be manufactured without leakage of the molten metal to the outside. In the above example, the mold 1 is rotated, and when the casting position is made to change with time, the mold 1 may be fixed. Further, in the case of arranging a surrounding chamber 34, by holding vacuum or gas atmosphere, the change in quality of oxidization, etc., in the molten metal can be prevented.
