PURPOSE: To eliminate influence of tension and prevent occurence of slip-off of a film-formed material by a method wherein the member is fed forward by a second pair of nip rolls rotating at the same speed after the previous tension is cut off by a first pair of nip rolls.
CONSTITUTION: A film-formed material 1 fed in the direction of the lower arrow is nipped by a first pair of nip rolls 2 for cutting off the tension, fed through guide rolls 3 while in slackened state, nipped again by a second pair of nip rolls 5 and fed in the direction of the upper arrow while being restricted widthwise by guide rods 4. It is preferable to set the slack amount of the material 1 between the first and second pairs of nip rolls to be greater than 1.1 times the minimum distance. A smaller slack amount might generate frictional forces at the guide rolls 3, leading to troubles.
