Abstract:
To provide a method and an apparatus for classifying radioactive waste by which stainless steel foil having radioactivity can be caught by being separated from other radioactive waste and there is little danger of radiation exposure.
The radioactive waste classifying apparatus is provided with a waste taking out unit 32 which is installed in a waste storage house 30 storing the radioactive waste 1 including the stainless steel foil 21 having radioactivity and which picks up the stored waste 1 and a stainless steel foil catching unit 31 which is installed in the waste storage house 30 and by which the stainless steel foil 21 can be caught by being separated from among the stored waste 1.
