Abstract:
To correctly specify a state of a package even if a drawing is provided on the package.
In a method and an apparatus 1 for controlling quality of the package 2 of a cigarette, when the package 2 is sent through a quality control section 29;30 for use, an optical detection unit 27;28 obtains data on a predetermined section 15;37 of the package 2 and a material detectable optically with a wave length out of the visible region is coated on the section 15;37 and the data detected with the optical detection unit 27;28 is compared with a standard data and the compared result is used for deciding acceptance or rejection of the package 2. Like this, the state of the package 2 can be specified irrespective of the drawing on the package 2.
