Abstract:
PURPOSE:To convert a supercouducting state to a normal conducting state and vice versa by irradiating light, electromagnetic waves, acoustic waves, or corpuscular rays on superconductive substances. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor 1 and a resistance 2 are provided on a base 3 which can control temperature. This superconductor 1 is a thin film and the wiring between a terminal A and a terminal B is made of a normal conductor. When the critical temperature of the superconductor is controlled a little below Tc, the superconductor 1 is in a superconducting state and the resistance drops to zero. Therefore if a current of current value i0 is passed from the terminal A to the terminal B, the current value at the terminal B remains i0. Then laser beam is irradiated to the laser irradiation spot 4; where if the temperature of superconductor 1 exceeds Tc due to the thermal action of laser beam, and if the electron in a superconducting state passes into a normal conducting state due to laser beam, the spot 4 loses its superconductivity and passes into a normal conducting state.
