Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for correcting acceleration errors, and an inertial navigation system using them.
SOLUTION: This acceleration error correcting apparatus includes a first acceleration error computing section 335 which approximates the acceleration information during a stop section of the system with a linear function and computes an acceleration error produced during the stop of the system, a zero velocity correction section 337 for correcting the velocity of the system and its acceleration by the velocity in the stop section of the system, and a second acceleration error computing section 339. The second section 339 utilizes the approximated acceleration errors in the stop section and computes the acceleration errors of the system produced in an operation section, and outputs an acceleration which has been error-corrected by utilizing the acceleration error in the operation section, a measured acceleration value in the operation section, and the corrected acceleration in the stopping section.
