PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing seaweed comprising forming culturing environment easily and inexpensively established, making rhizoid of seaweed such as kelp easily adhere to and hardly come off, and prepared so that drift of the tide, nutrition and the growing direction or the like of the roots or leaves of the seaweed are closer to those in natural environment allowing natural seaweed to grow, as mush as possible to produce high quality seaweed, and playing a role as a fish bed at the bottom of the sea.
SOLUTION: The method comprises planting seaweed seeds and seedlings on one side of a culturing belt 2 formed into a longitudinal flat belt shape, and stretching the belt in the sea to grow the seaweed.
