Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a flat pipe to be satisfactory cut off in the cut-off position by forming a brittle part in the cut-off position of the flat pipe with a shearing load and then applying a tension load to the brittle part for cutting off.
CONSTITUTION: A shearing load acts on the cut-off position of a flat pipe 1 on the basis of the vertical displacement of both first and second clamp means 11, 21, so that a brittle part 4 deformed plastically is formed in the cut-off position of the flat pipe 1. Then, a slide board 35 is slid along the flat pipe 1 by a pulling cylinder 41, so that both first and second clamp means 11, 21 are displaced to relatively part from each other and a tension load acts on the brittel part 4 of the flat pipe 1. And the flat pipe 1 is cut off in the brittle part 4 on the cut-off position on the basis of the tension load.
