PURPOSE: To carry out uniform descaling avoiding mutual interference of the brushing agent, by jetting the shot blasting agent from nozzles at a suitable jetting angle against the flowing direction of steel strip.
CONSTITUTION: Nozzles 2 are linearly located at a specified angle α of inclination against the flowing direction of the steel strip 1, so as to jet the shot blasting agent from nozzles 2 at 90 degrees -α against the line-up of nozzles 2. As a result, the jetting shot blasting agent has a time lag against the flowing direction of steel strip 1, and the excess energy due to the former nozzle makes easy the descaling work by the following nozzle. Accordingly, if the nozzles 2 are located at an interval not to cause the mutual interference of shot blasting agent, an overlap 4 is formed between the projection ranges 3, so that the pressure distribution on the steel strip due to the jet of shot blasting agent is uniformized, and the uniform descaling is performed. Besides, the projection angle β of the line of nozzles 2 is determined relating to the angle of inclination α depending on the condition of the scale, and the distance l from the surface of steel strip to the nozzle is settled at an optimum condition.
