Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for detecting an object at a high reliability and an intruding object monitoring device which are capable of detecting an object intruding within an imaging field of view, even if the shot position so varies as needing to change the zoom ratio or the shot direction of an imaging apparatus.
SOLUTION: A reference background dynamic image is recorded, involving two or more frames of a reference background image coping with the variation of the shot position. An adequate reference background image from the reference background dynamic image is applied for calculating the difference between brightness values. This enables the detection of an object inverting a shot field of view, even if a zoom lens or the shot direction and the shot position of an imaging apparatus vary, thus realizing a method and an apparatus for detecting an object at a high reliability and an intruding object detector.
