To provide a method and an apparatus for drying grain in which grain can be dried effectually to the utmost, and the degree of damage of grain following drying such as broken trunk and excess drying is reduced, and modification of deterioration of taste is not caused, and further a germination rate of seed grain is not reduced.
There are provided a grain storage tank 2 on an upper stage, a ventilating/drying part 3 on a middle stage, and a grain delivery chamber 4 on a lower stage. In a process where grain stored in a grain storage tank 2 is flowed down from the ventilating/drying part 3 through the grain delivery chamber while being circulated, and flowed through a passage extending from a ventilating/drying part 3 to the grain storage tank 2 through the grain delivery chamber 4, the grain is exposed to hot air, and hence is ventilated and dried. An upper limit value of hot air temperature is previously set in response to water in the grain and the kind of the grain, and the grain is ventilated and dried with hot air in a temperature range not exceeding the set temperature.
