The method for drying the green honeycomb molding is provided for drying the green honeycomb molding having a plurality of through-holes. The method includes steps of placing the green honeycomb molding on a gas dispersion plate, and supplying heated gas to the through-holes of the molding through the gas dispersion plate and simultaneously irradiating the molding with microwaves in an atmosphere where water vapor is present around the molding. Prior to the supply of heated gas and the irradiation of microwaves, a sealing member for preventing the heated gas from the gas dispersion plate from contacting the outer peripheral wall of the molding is arranged around the gas dispersion plate side end of the molding.
