PURPOSE: To facilitate the use of a terminal equipment in an electric communication system, having a plurality of terminal equipments and a terminal translator defining attribute of each terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION: A physical translator whose attribute is independent of a user 22 for each terminal equipment 17 and that includes a physical extension number is added to each terminal equipment, a default terminal equipment translator whose attribute depends on the user of the terminal equipment and that includes a call coverage path is added to each terminal equipment, and a logical translator, whose attribute depends on the user of each terminal equipment and that includes a logical extension number and the call coverage path is added to the user. Before logging-in, the physical translator and the default terminal translator attended with this terminal equipment are used, and a call addressed to the user is transferred to the call coverage path decided in the logical translator of the user. After the log-in, the physical translator attended with the terminal equipment and the logical translator attended with the user are used.
