PURPOSE: To electrochemically machine an airfoil component in one work by moving first and second electrodes toward the first and second faces of an airfoil blank, moving the blank toward both electrodes, and conducting electrical discharge machining while feeding an electrolyte.
CONSTITUTION: The first and second electrodes 18, 20 applied with a negative voltage are arranged adjacently to both faces of one of multiple airfoil blanks 14 of a workpiece 12, and an electrolyte 28 is fed. Operating portions 146, 150 of both electrodes 18, 20 are moved toward both faces of the blank 14 while synchronously controlling the reciprocating rotation of the workpiece 12 and a turntable 56, the workpiece 12 is moved toward both electrodes 18, 20, a pulse voltage is applied between both faces of the blank 14 and the operating portions 146, 150, and electrical discharge machining is conducted. An airfoil component can be electrochemically machined accurately in one work.
