Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for enhanced file distribution in multicast communication or broadcast communication.SOLUTION: In a communication system providing broadcast services, files for broadcast are accessible by users. Contents of the broadcast files and contents of the file attributes required to process the broadcast files are separately sent. By such arrangement, receiving the file attributes ahead of the content files allows more efficient download and processing of the broadcast files.
