Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain very useful results of evaluation for the color tone of an coating film by measuring excitation purity based on a highlight part within a range of 5 - 15 degrees with respect to regular reflection light and based on a shade part in a range exceeding 15 degrees. CONSTITUTION:A coating film 1 comprises a lower layer 1' which is formed of a paint containing a color pigment 11 and a bright material 12 and an upper layer 1'' which is formed of transparent paint. The highlight saturation and/or the highlight excitation purity of the coating film 1 are obtained as evaluating data from the highlight part within the range of 5 - 15 degrees with respect to regular reflection luminous flux 2' among the light rays reflected from the coating film. The shade saturation and/or the shade excitation purity of the applied film are obtained as evaluating data from the shade part within a range S exceeding 15 degrees with respect to the luminous flux 2'. When these data are available, the evaluation reflecting depth feeling and transparent feeling can be performed, and the evaluation reflecting the shadow feeling is performed.
