To provide a residual stress evaluation method, a recording medium recording a residual stress evaluation program, and a residual stress evaluation apparatus for further reducing operation time and operation costs in a process for estimating a temperature history of each weld pass at the execution of welding when residual stress of a welded structure provided with a large number of weld passes is to be analyzed.
In the residual stress evaluation method, heat transfer analysis is performed when a temperature distribution of a welded body due to heat received from a heat source is to be determined, and then thermal elasto-plastic stress analysis is performed on the basis of the temperature distribution to evaluate residual stress in a welded part of the welded body. A plurality of weld passes of the welded part are grouped according to welding conditions which are the same or considered to be the same (step 6). Heat transfer analysis is performed on each grouped group (step 10). By using temperature distributions acquired by results of heat transfer analysis of the weld passes belonging to the same groups (step 14), thermal elasto-plastic stress analysis is performed in the method (step 15).
