Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a method for extracting specific component from a sample with a supercritical fluid as extracting medium and an apparatus used for the method.

CONSTITUTION: The supercritical fluid (e.g. carbon dioxide) from a gas cylinder 100 is supplied to an extracting chamber 210 containing sample by a pump 202 controlled by a pressure transducer 201. The specific component in the sample is extracted by the fluid, held by the fluid, sent to a nozzle/trap subassembly 214, and the precipitation of the component is recovered by the pressure drop by an expansion nozzle 216.
