PURPOSE: To improve the rate of operation in a filtration process by surely drawing out liquids to be filtered held in filter materials to apply gases for back-washing uniformly and effectively to a filter-material wall, performing thereby back-washing and regeneration rapidly and surely.
CONSTITUTION: In a filter container 1 provided with a raw-liquid-for-filtration inlet valve 3 and a cake-discharge valve 6, a plurality of cylindrical filter materials 2 with their upper ends being closed are mounted vertically on a header 8 made up of pipes, to which header 8 discharge pipes provided with a filtered liquid drawing-out valve 4 are connected so as to discharge the filtered liquids flowing from the inside of the container 1 into the header 8 to the outside of said container 1 from the lower section thereof. A gas feed pipe for back-washing of filter materials with a gas valve 5 for back-washing of filter materials is connected to the discharge pipes. As a result, filtered liquids held in the filter materials are surely drawn out and gases for back-washing are applied to the walls of filter materials uniformly and effectively, so that back- washing and regeneration can be performed rapidly and surely, achieving thereby an improved rate of operation in the filtration process.
