A manufacturing method for a retardation layer attached color filter including at least a plurality of coloring layers formed on a base material and a retardation layer formed on the coloring layers, comprises sequentially: (1) a step of coating a surface of a resin film with a retardation material including liquid crystal or a resin; (2) a step of extending the resin film coated with the retardation material in a constant direction by stress; (3) a step of removing an unnecessary retardation material on the resin film using a removal plate; and (4) a step of transferring a pattern remaining on the resin film onto the coloring layers on the color filter base material.
