The workpiece forming method is provided for forming an inverse part 3 by bending a portion of the workpiece W into a U-shape with a restructuring punch, wherein a process of flanging is performed which previously forms an R-shape of a bending end 3b for bending a portion of the workpiece W into a U-shape in a trimming step that is a preceding process for forming the inverse part 3. In the flanging, a circumferential length L2 of a flanging part A2 of the workpiece W after the flanging is processed to substantially the same length for a circumferential length L1 of a flanging part A1 of the workpiece W before the flanging.
