Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method and the apparatus that can efficiently generate hydrogen using the reverse electrodialysis.SOLUTION: A method of using the reverse electrodialysis comprises: a step of arranging alternately a plurality of anion exchange membranes A and a plurality of cation exchange membranes C between an electrode plate 1a and 1b which are conducting with each other, a step of flowing electrolytic solution E in a main electrode chamber 7, 9 formed between the electrode plate 1a or 1b and the anion exchange membrane A or the cation exchange membrane C, a step of flowing high concentration electrolyte solution H through a chamber formed on one surface side of the anion exchange membrane A as a concentrated chamber 3, a step of flowing low concentration electrolytic solution L through a chamber formed on the other surface side of the anion exchange membrane A as a dilute chamber 5, and a step of forming a water electrolysis unit 11 having a structure in which a conductive plate 13 is inserted between the anion exchange membrane A and the cation exchange membrane C arranged alternately, forming two chambers between the ion exchange membranes A and C on both sides of the conductive plate 13 to define as dummy electrode chambers 15a, 15b, and flowing the electrolytic solution E through each of the dummy electrode chambers 15a, 15b to generate hydrogen in the dummy electrode chamber 15a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
