To faithfully reproduce real vibration generated on a vibrator.
A method of generating vibration includes: a first step of calculating power spectrum density for each frequency component fk from vibration waveform data of real vibration generated on the vibrator and also calculating kurtosis of the vibration waveform data of the real vibration; a second step of setting an amplitude Dk for each frequency component fk based on the calculated power spectrum density; and a third step of generating the vibration waveform data of vibration in which the real vibration is reproduced by performing inverse Fourier transform after applying a phase angle Φk to each frequency component fk. During the third step, the phase angle Φk applied to each frequency component fk is specified so that kurtosis of the generated vibration waveform data coincides with the kurtosis of the vibration waveform data of the real vibration.
