Abstract:

PURPOSE: To quickly cool while holding a uniform temperature after HIP process by a gas adiabatic expansion.

CONSTITUTION: A method for hot isotropically pressuring a material 10 to be processed comprises the steps of forming a furnace chamber 8 having a heat insulating layer 6 in a high pressure chamber 5 formed of a high-pressure cylinder 2 and upper and lower covers 3, 4 and a heater 7 inside the layer 6 and charging the material 10 to be processed in the chamber 8, and hot isotropically pressurizing it with pressure medium gas. The gas is cooled by an adiabatic expansion by axially moving at least one of the covers 3, 4 in a state the gas is fully filled in the chamber 5 while holding airtightness in a cooling step after the pressurizing to increase a volume of the chamber 5. Further, this apparatus comprises a fluid cylinder 12 for moving the cover.
