Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To check or identify, relatively easily and quickly, deformation properties and strength properties of anisotropic bedrock through an in-situ loading test in a pure shear mode.SOLUTION: A cap (10) having measurement means (LU) for measuring normal and shear stress is placed on the top end of a test body (SP). An axial load (Q) and moment (T) are exerted on the test body via the cap. Normal and shear stress acting on a boundary between the cap and a top face of the test body is detected by the measurement means and distribution of the normal and shear stress in a circumferential direction is determined to evaluate deformation properties and strength properties of anisotropic bedrock (M).
