Abstract:

To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor capable of accurately holding a charge gap by inspecting the substrate surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, which is produced by immersion coating subjected to a charge system for holding the gap between the electrophotographic photoreceptor and a charge roll by regulating the intervals between both the end substrate surfaces of the electrophotographic photoreceptor and both ends of the charge roll by a spacer.

The outer surface of the end part of the electrophotographic photoreceptor is irradiated with ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 250-420 nm and the fluorescence, which is emitted upon the reception of ultraviolet rays or near ultraviolet rays by the solid substance of the charge transport layer coating solution remaining on the outer surface of the end part of the electrophotographic photoreceptor, in measured to inspect the adhesion state of the solid matter of the charge transport layer coating solution present on the outer surface of the end part of the electrophotographic photoreceptor.
