Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately and easily inspect the operation of a variable dynamic valve apparatus.
SOLUTION: A variable dynamic valve apparatus is constituted of a variable dynamic valve mechanism 20 for varying a relative rotation phase of a crank shaft 5 and a cam shaft 6, an oil pump 16 for supplying a hydraulic oil to the mechanism 20, a hydraulic control valve 19 for controlling the hydraulic oil, etc. The variable dynamic valve apparatus 20 is driven while the crank shaft 5 of an internal combustion engine 1 equipped with the variable dynamic valve apparatus is forcibly rotated from the outside by an electric motor 27. A control device 27 calculates an operation speed of the variable dynamic valve mechanism 20 from the output signals of a crank angle sensor 18 and a cam angle sensor 12, and detects an operation failure of the variable dynamic valve apparatus on the basis of the operation speed.
