Title:
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR INSPECTING WELDING STRENGTH OF WELDED H-BEAM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3373107
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously inspect the welding strength of a welded H-beam during on line passage over the total length thereof by providing rolls so as to generate predetermined tensile stress in a web of the welded H-beam and passing the H-beam in such a state that the rotary surfaces, of the respective rolls are pressed to the inner surfaces of the corresponding flanges in a rotatable manner.
SOLUTION: A welded H-beam 1 is passed in such a state that the rotary surfaces of respective rolls 5 are individually pressed to the inner surfaces of the flanges 2 welded and bonded to the upper and lower ends of a web 3 in the height direction thereof. Expanding force 6 is applied to the web 3 between the upper and lower flanges 2 of which the inner surfaces are pressed so as to generate predetermined tensile stress in the web 3 in the high direction thereof. When a welded and bonded parts of which the breaking strength is below predetermined tensile stress of the welded H-beam, that is, the welded inferior parts thereof pass through the gaps between the upper and lower and left and right rolls 5 during the passage of the welded H-beam over the total length thereof, the welding inferior parts are broken. When a welding healthy parts of which the breaking strength is predetermined tensile stress or more pass through the same places, the web 3 is only elastically deformed and no effect is exerted on the quality of the welded H-beam.
