A cartridge loading mechanism 22 comprises a case holding means 60 which holds the case 18 in a square shape so that it is unable to rotate, a cartridge holding means 62 which holds the cartridge 14 in the unrotatable state and inserts it into the case 18, and a guide means 66 guiding the cartridge 14 and having a guide cylinder 64 which holds an end 12a of a fixed-size film 12 at the outer circumference of the cartridge 14 by rotating when the cartridge 14 is carried into the case 18. The cartridge 14 has its port part 15 restricted to a position corresponding to an inside corner part 19 of the case 18 and is further guided by a cylindrical projection part 100 provided at the lower end of the guide cylinder body 64 to be inserted into the case 18.
