To provide a method and an apparatus for lubricating a filter plate in filter press in which lubrication water is jetted to a sliding part in moving the filter plate.

In a sequentially plate-opening type filter press, a nozzle 34 for jetting lubrication water is arranged in a carrier 11 in which a plate opening device 14 of a filter plate 4 is provided and the lubrication water is jetted from the nozzle 34 to a sliding member 40b of a side rail 3 in conjunction with the operation of the carrier 11. Since minimum amount of lubrication water is supplied when necessary and also a lubricant is water, there is no oil scattering to the outside, reducing environmental load. In addition, handling is facilitated in disassembling and maintenance.
