To provide a desalted water making apparatus capable of keeping treated water quality in good condition in the case of making desalted water by using a flow-through type electric double-layer capacitor.
The desalted water making method has desalting stage in which power is supplied to the flow-through type electric double-layer capacitor 2 and treated water is taken out by passing feedwater and a regenerating stage in which washing waste water is discharged from a feedwater inlet 2a side by short-circulating or reversely connecting an anode side electrode and a cathode side electrode of the flow-through type electric double-layer capacitor 2 and also introducing washing water to the flow-through type electric double- layer capacitor 2 from a treated water outlet 2b side.
