Abstract:

To provide a method of and an apparatus for manufacturing an aluminum alloy strip for a lithographic printing plate where the generation of a black stripe failure can be prevented even if casting is performed for a long time.

Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an aluminum alloy strip for a lithographic printing plate by a continuous casting method comprising a process where an aluminum molten metal is successively passed through: a filtering means; a molten metal flow passage connected to the filtering means; a liquid face control means connected to the molten metal flow passage; and a molten metal feed nozzle connected to the liquid face control means. The aluminum molten metal is the one obtained by adding an aluminum alloy comprising titanium and boron to a molten metal obtained by dissolving an aluminum raw material, and melting the same, and the time (t) for which the aluminum molten metal passes through the flow passage satisfies inequality (1): t(sec)2701.2D ; wherein, D denotes the molten metal depth (m) of the flow passage.
