To obtain a beautiful and uniform plating appearance without plating unevenness when electroplating a continuously passing steel strip even when the passing speed is as high as, for example, 100 m/min.
An electroplating is performed by introducing a continuously moving steel strip 1 into a plating solution 3 contained in a plating cell 6 and by letting the introduced steel strip 1 pass through a location at a predetermined distance from an electrode 2. By forming a plating solution stream flowing in a direction opposed to a moving direction of the steel strip 1 at a location A where the steel strip 1 enters the plating solution 3, an entrainment of air associated with the introduction of the steel strip 1 into the plating solution 3 is suppressed.
