PURPOSE: To simplify adjustment before a work and to prevent a double cut from occurring by simultaneously forming slits to provide linear parts and knot parts.
CONSTITUTION: At a 1st stage, a strip A sent between both rolls 10, 10 is slitted by the edges of facing circular cutters 1, 1, the linear part (a) is bulged by projecting parts 2, the slits are made intermittently between facing relief parts 3, 3 by a prescribed pitch to provide knots (b). At a 2nd stage, tension force is given to the strip A ejected from 1st stage in the direction vertical to the strip surface, each linear part (a) is bent in its bent direction, the knots (b), (b) adjoining in the width direction can be separated without giving twists to the linear part (a). In the trip A expanded in this way, expanded parts and non-worked parts are provided by flattening rollers on the same level to obtain a required elongated mesh sheet.
