The method for manufacturing the glass cell includes a heating process for heating the bottomed tube 4 to a temperature at which the tube can be shaped, a first process for inserting a square inner mold 3 from the opening part of the bottomed tube 4, a second process for press shaping the bottomed tube 4 between the inner mold 3 and an outer mold 5 by pressing the outer mold 5 against the outer peripheral surface of the bottomed tube 4, and a third process for shaping the outer peripheral surface of the bottomed tube 4 into the shape of the outer mold 5 by slightly releasing the the outer mold 5 from the outer peripheral surface of the bottomed tube 4 and blow pressurizing the inside of the bottomed tube 4 so as to press the outer peripheral surface of the bottomed tube 4 against the outer mold 5.
