Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing of the metallic shaft of a printing mechanism for forming grooves which are not adjacent to a projecting part on a work in a short period of time and at a low cost.
SOLUTION: A 1st die 70 on which a blade part 74 for forming the groove 12 on the work is projected and a 2nd die 60 having a recessed part 64 which spans projecting parts 24, 25 formed at edges of the groove 12 by the blade part 74 are used. The groove 12 is formed by holding the work 10 between the dies 60, 70 and pressurizing the work 10 with the dies 60, 70 while making the work 10 relatively rotate to the dies 60, 70. Next, the projecting parts 24, 25 are cut out by grinding the outer peripheral wall of the work 10.
