Abstract:
To provide a method and apparatus for producing a titanium ingot having a fine solidification structure and suppressed in segregation of a solute element.SOLUTION: A method for producing a titanium ingot 52 includes a raw material supply process, a melting process that melts a raw material 50, a refining process that refines a molten metal 51 containing a melt of the raw material 50 in a hearth 7, a molding process that forms a titanium ingot 52 by cooling/solidifying the metal 51 refined in the hearth 7 by a mold 8, and a vibrating process that vibrates the titanium ingot 52 in order to vibrate a solid-liquid interface 53 as an interface of the molten metal 51 and the titanium ingot 52.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
