PURPOSE: To make it possible to simply measure the concns. of acid and amino acid of a fermentation product liquid, by a method wherein electrodes partitioned by a diaphragm are immersed in an electrolyte and a specimen is immersed in a cathode side electrolyte and a final point is detected by the pH electrode immersed in the electrolyte while a current is supplied to the electrodes to calculate quantity of electricity applied from the beginning of current supply to the final point.
CONSTITUTION: A constant current is made to flow to electrodes 4, 5 from a power source 9 while the electrolyte (a) containing specimen in a titration tank 1 is stirred according to operation procedure and treatment procedure and, when a pH value of 7 is detected by a pH electrode 3, measurement is finished to stop the supply of a current to the electrodes 4, 5. Next, after data was reset, the supply of a current to the electrodes 4, 5 is again started and electrolysis is performed until a second stage final point pH valve of 8.3 is detected by the pH electrode 3. Next, a neutral formalin solution is added to an electrolytic cell and a liberated acid is reacted with a OH- ion again generated by electrolysis and measurement is finished when the second stage final point pH value of 8.3 is again detected by the pH electrode 3. In both cases, quantity of electricity is calculated on the basis of the current made to flow to the electrodes 4, 5 and a current supply time by an operator 10 during reaction and respectively converted to acid or amino acid conc. (mol concnc.) and further converted to a volume ratio to be displayed on a display device 15.
