Abstract:

To provide a method and an apparatus for measuring the discontinuous plane of geology, which can measure the azimuth, inclination and roughness of the discontinuous plane readily and accurately even by a person without professional knowledge.

A measuring part 10 having a vibration gyro sensor 12 for detecting a rotary angle, an acceleration sensor 13 for detecting the direction of gravity and acceleration and a magnetic sensor 14 for detecting the angle with respect to the azimuth of the magnetic north is continuously moved along the surface of the discontinuous plane of an object to be measured. The azimuth angles and the inclination angles of the discontinuous plane at the moving positions of the above described sensors 12-14 changing with time are operated and processed in a control part 20, and the average values of the azimuth angles and the inclination angles are obtained.
