Abstract:
PURPOSE: To determine the dynamic unbalance of a ball accurately.
CONSTITUTION: A ball 2 is born on a gas bearing and spun by ejecting compressed air through a nozzle 22. In this regard, the ball 2 is magnetized at one point 25, which is located on the axis of spin. When a dynamic unbalance is present in the ball 2, the point 25 turns about the main axis of inertia. The locus and the rate of displacement can be determined for the turning motion by observing the passage of the point 25 using a plurality of Hall elements 17, 17a, 17b. Dynamic unbalance of the ball 2 is determined based on the locus and the rate of displacement.
