PURPOSE: To measure an engine mass air flow with a high and correct response speed by arranging a signal generator that generates cylinder pulses as a func tion of cylinder position and an air flow sensor that measures the air flow rate at fixed sampling periods.
CONSTITUTION: An engine 10 arranges an air flow sensor 12 in an inlet. A cam position sensor 14 has an one tooth cam shaft driven wheel and a fixed pick-up 16. A cylinder position sensor 18 has a fixed pick-up 20, that generates cylinder pulse signals, installed on the crank shaft. The signals generated by the three sensors 12, 14, 18 are input into a controller 22, and the instantaneous fuel conditions are calculated there, and then a fuel control order is missioned to the output line 25.
