To provide a method for peeling the surface material of a resin product, excellent in the removal efficiency of the surface material coating or adhering to the surface of a resin basic material, environmental safety and treatment capacity and capable of obtaining a recycled resin product of high quality.

The method for peeling the surface material comprises crushing the resin product having the surface material coating or adhering to the surface of the resin basic material, contacting the crushed product 50 with a heated steam 43 in a cylinder 11 wile stirring and transferring with a rotating member 20 the outer periphery of which has a protruded row 21 to peel off the surface material from the resin base material. Adhesion strength of the surface material to the resin basic material can be reduced with the heat of the heated steam and stirring so that the surface material can be peeled off from the resin basic material by rubbing the crushed material together.
