PURPOSE: To easily place a shell structure by a method in which the lower end of the hanging wire of a vertically movable jack is coupled with the upper end of a shell structure, and the shell structure is placed by giving vibration to the shell structure by a vibration generator.

CONSTITUTION: A driver 1 is hung down by the crane of a crane ship 15, the handing wire 12 of a jack 7 is lowered, and the wire socket 13 is coupled with the upper edge of a shell structure 8 by bolts. The wire 12 is raised to lift up the structure 8, the upper edge of the structure 8 is held by a grasper 6, and the structure 8 is hung down by the crane 16 and moved to construction site by the crane ship 15. The structure 8 is lowered to a settling position by the crane 16, and vibration is given to the structure 8 by a vibration generator 5 to settle the structure 8.
