There are provided a powder production method and a powder production apparatus wherein a solid fed into a rotary bottomed cylinder having many through-holes of a specified diameter around its peripheral wall is ground in the cylinder, and the ground product are discharged outside through the many through-holes of the specified diameter around the peripheral wall of the cylinder by a centrifugal force resulting from the rotation of the cylinder to collect a powder of a specified or smaller diameter.
