PURPOSE: To prevent the destruction of a fiber generated by the taking-up of a profile fiber by extruding a molten stock linearly when the molten stock is extruded from a profile orifice and subsequently differentiating the shape of the extruded stock gradually from the linear shape.

CONSTITUTION: The shutter 11 covering the whole of an orifice 7 is moved to the left to open a part of the orifice 7 and pressure is applied to the orifice 7 by an air cylinder 5. By this method, a fiber 19 having a linear cross-section flows out to be stretched by definite quantity for a definite time by a take-up drum 14 and the stretched fiber is subsequently cut by cutter rollers 15, 16 to be recovered in a recovery box 17. By further moving the shutter 11 to the left, a profile fiber 19 flows out from the whole of the orifice 7 and is processed in the same way as mentioned above and a filler 20 is recovered in the recovery box 17. The shape of the formed filler 20 corresponds to the various orifice shapes and the filler 20 having a shape almost similar to that of the orifice 7 is obtained.
