Abstract:

To provide a dryer having high drying efficiency, and requiring less labor and cost in maintenance.

The subject method for processing food to prepare a food product for packaging is a method which comprises a step for processing, a step for presteaming, a step for prewashing, a step for water-soaking, a step for steam heating and a step for drying. Chemical additives may be added to the food in processing. The subject apparatus comprises a conveying means (38), soaking tanks (27) and a water recirculation means (30), and has a dryer (32) comprising a rotating barrel suitable for agitating the food product in processing.
