Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a method and an apparatus for processing an image by using an outline font which can be rapidly output-processed.
CONSTITUTION: A page printer stores a form received from a host computer 300 before printing to output in a RAM 101b. When code data input from the computer 300 is developed to a pattern corresponding to the code, whether necessary pattern is registered or not is checked by referring to a cache memory 106, and if it is not registered, the pattern is newly registered. The form is similarly registered with a cache memory 103. Thus, the registration of the pattern is repeated until data for one page is completely developed. Here, if the memories are fully stored, the already registered pattern which has a lowest using frequency is deleted, and the memories are effectively used.
