To provide a method and an apparatus for producing dolls, which enable a series of working processes of freely making a three-dimensional mask from a printed matter, and attaches the mask to a face part of a favorable doll which a person selects.

This method for producing dolls includes three-dimensionally molding a printed matter made by transferring an image. The method has: a filming process (A) of positioning a person himself/herself in a favorable condition with remote control operation while seeing a monitor screen 3, and taking a few pictures with a camera 2 near the monitor screen 3; a heat transfer process B of setting a picture selected by the person to a printer 6 and sticking the color toner image of the picture to a transfer release sheet S1 by a heat transfer roller; a mask making process C of setting the transfer release sheet S1 formed with an image to a three-dimensionally molding device 7 to make a mask by the image; and a mask attaching process D of removing the mask by the transfer release sheet S1 formed by hardening from an original mold followed by being attached to a blank space of a doll main body selected by the person.
