Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hydrogen, in which generation of carbon dioxide can be suppressed, and also an apparatus for producing hydrogen.SOLUTION: The method for producing hydrogen comprises the steps of: using a reaction vessel 2, in which a reaction acceleration substance 21 and a crushing medium 22 are housed; and bringing a hydrocarbon into contact with the reaction acceleration substance 21 in the reaction vessel 2 while heating/moving the reaction vessel 2 to force the reaction acceleration substance 21 to collide with the crushing medium 22 so that the hydrocarbon is decomposed directly into hydrogen and by-product carbon to obtain hydrogen. An apparatus 51 for producing hydrogen, at the least, includes: the reaction vessel 2 in which the reaction acceleration substance 21 and the crushing medium 22 are housed and which can be moved so as to force them to collide with each other; a heating source 3 for heating the reaction vessel 2; a supply system 4 which is connected to the reaction vessel 2 and used for supplying the hydrocarbon into the reaction vessel; and a recovery system 5 which is connected to the reaction vessel 2 and used for recovering the produced hydrogen.
