To obtain a large scaled ingot 32 having high quality at a high productivity by surely preventing the mutual interference with melting atmosphere between a melting furnace 1 and a casting furnace 2.
This apparatus is provided with the melting furnace 1 and the casting furnace arranged perfectly independently of the melting furnace 1. The melting furnace 1 is provided, under highly clean atmosphere, with a crucible 4 for melting in which the raw metallic material is held, a induction heating coil 6 for making molten metal by heating and melting the raw material held in the crucible 4 for melting, and a mold 5 for making a primary ingot 8 by casting the molten metal in the crucible 4 for melting. The casting furnace 2 is provided, under highly clean atmosphere, with a first induction heating coil 26 for dripping the molten metal by heating and melting the primary ingot 8 and a casting mechanism 27 (casting means) for making the large scaled ingot 32 by continuously solidifying the molten metal.
